Just Wondered which Logo for Butlins everyone prefers

For me its the two attached!

I absolutely hated the holiday worlds one (even though I unwittingly helped design it) because they were trying to take the focus off the name Butlins. For a couple of years they did drop the Butlins name completely but thank goodness that obviously didn't work so they soon added it back in.

I used to love the Butlins logo of the 1970s-80s (like the one at the top of the forum but usually in red)

However I think the current logo when used with "Altogether More Fun" is just as good as the 70s-80s one but more suitable for use in 2010. I actually think it's even better to be honest and the best logo / slogan combination Butlins have EVER had, in my opinion.

I have to say I'm not so sure where they're going with it now because in the last year it seems like they're gradually dropping the "Altogether More Fun" slogan and showing the logo by itself in WHITE more often than red. One thing that has remained fairly constant throughout Butlins history is that the logo was nearly always in Red (except for when it appeared in yellow in the 70s as per the one at the top of the forum).

When shown in Red the current logo denotes "fun, exciting, modern" and also the fact it is in red provides an important link to the past. In white it says "upmarket, luxurious, relaxing" which are all nice things but not what Butlins means to me.

I loved holiday worlds, every camp was given a identity, and alot of colour, though in my time (86 tel 97) The name was never phased out in Skegness, it was always refered to as Butlins, B was everywhere, it was on the mags, butlin TV, etc, I never felt a loss of the name.

Interesting Push, how did you come to unwittingly help design it?

For me it's a toss up between the current one and the previous logo with the star on. I've voted for the star one as it's simpler and doesn't look so busy as the current one!

the star one is fantastic and it was a shame to see it fade from things in recent years.

Its out of the current logo and the holiday worlds logo (well the butlins on top of the holiday worlds bit manly). but i think the current logo just about wins. though the alltogether more fun bit is a bit loud for my liking...
